Creeping It Real This Halloween!

Apologies, there's not really any excuse for starting this update with such a terrible pun. In my defence, I have recently finished writing our Crow Panto (The Tale of Robin Hood) which is coming to a Crooked Crow Bar near you on the 6th January, but I will try and keep the awful puns and cracker jokes to a minimum until then.

So... What's been happening? Well rather a lot actually. In fact, we are hurtling through October with more speed than a 90s raver in a muddy field. We've had our Blockbuster Film Club screening of Hocus Pocus, Big Fat Quiz of The Crow, Retro Gaming Sunday, Rum & Reggae, plus live music from the fantastic Jo Carley & The Old Dry Skulls, El Bronson, Popscene, The Rooters and (in a change from the billing), The Atomics.

Last Saturday we were supposed to have Radio Generation play, however they had to cancel due to illness and the fantastic Atomics stepped in to play. Similarly this Saturday we had The 403 scheduled to play, however they have had to cancel due to illness, so Radio Generation will be playing in their place!! I admit to being a little bit chuffed. I missed Radio Generations last gig at The CCB and was gutted that I wasn't going to get to see them last week. So all's well that ends well (for me at least, as I absolutely love David Bowie, Johnny Cash & Elvis Costello, all of which feature in Radio Generations fantastic set)! Obviously, we send The 403 our best wishes and hope they have a speedy recovery and will hopefully reschedule their gig soon.

Everyone I know, including my husband and children, seem to be poorly lately. Whilst I am deeply sympathetic (colds and snotty bugs are absolutely vile), I do wish they would bugger off! We have so much coming up at The Crooked Crow Bar, there's simply not enough time for catching the lurgy!

We've got a ridiculous amount of events booked in for the rest of 2023 and 2024's calendar is already nearly full! We've got some new events coming next year such as a fantastic Drag Cabaret show, some more theatre, our Blues & Booze Sessions (that's a working title btw), some more games nights, movie nights, quizzes, murder mysteries and of course, more live music than you can shake a stick at! We have started putting up all of our events until the end of 2023 onto the website and Facebook. We will be adding more in the coming weeks (I've just taken a bit of a breather as it becomes the most boring-arse admin task after a while)! Also our New Years Eve tickets will be going up on sale by the end of the week, so keep your eyes peeled.
