In one of those brain-melting paradox kind of ways, this month has flown by, but by the same token, Christmas now seems a lifetime ago! Whilst we don't want to tempt fate, so far 2022 has been kind to us and it's hopeful that those better times we have all been longing for, really could be just around the corner.
The chances of masses of people, braving the elements to overindulge in awesome tunes and beverages in January is always going to be one hell of a gamble. Whilst we have been being careful not to overdo things too early and be weeping into our (undeniably fantastic) beer because we've spanked the budget, we have not held back on our weekend events and you, the good people of Leighton Buzzard and further afield, have not disappointed us and have been supporting us week in, week out. So a huge THANKYOU to all you marvellous music-loving pissheads.
We have already hosted our 1st annual Crow Pantomime, our monthly quiz and more live music than you can shake a stick at, giving up our stage to the legendary John Otway and to numerous fantastic bands from Sex Pistols and AC/DC tributes, to brilliant cover bands and original artists.
As we head into February we are going to be bold and go full throttle on our event schedule. We will be welcoming back our monthly Castle Comedy Night and our midweek band performances and Sunday acoustic shows. This plan may be madness, after all we have been open 2 years now and as the bulk of that time has been an utter hairy bum-crack of a situation, many would advise us to exercise caution, however, we have decided to go BIG or go home. Done are the days of The Crooked Crow Bar being Leighton's best kept secret! This is the dawning of a new era. 1st we take over Leighton Buzzard, next we take over the world, Bwahahaha!!!!!
To assist in our plans of global domination (and general survival), we really do need you to continue to support us. To help us relaunch our Thursday night live music sessions, the incredible Kings Division will be playing an awesome set of high energy, alt. rock / grunge originals.
This will be free entry with fantastic tunes
and beers, so you do not want to miss it!
Friday 28th January: The Hip Hop Lounge
APRIL BLUE and Crazy James host The Hip-Hop Lounge at The Crooked Crow Bar.
Join us on the last Friday of every month for a night packed with live music, huge talent, DJ sets, special guests and all things rap-related.
Open Mic slots available to perform with the house band - drop us a message or just arrive on the night ready to spit.
Tickets are just £5 adv (and limited tickets available on the door)
Saturday 29th January: BYO Vinyl 12-6pm
Then live music from: The Scallywags
The guys are back after blowing us away with their previous Crow gigs! With fantastic showmanship, this is guaranteed to be a fun night out! Playing awesome covers from Killers, Blur, Oasis, The Libertines, Shed Seven, Charlatans etc as well as belters from the 60s, 80s & 90s, a bunch of TV theme tunes and maybe a couple of Irish classics... basically all that's great to singalong or dance along to... and it's free entry!
Band starts 9pm (ish) but we recommend you arrive early to secure entry.
(For BYO Vinyl it is free entry, with no pre booking required. Just rock up)!
Sunday Vibes: 12-4pm
It's the last Sunday of the month and so we will be joined by The Double Deckers classic soul, motown, ska and mod vinyl dj set.
It's completely free entry and a friendly chilled vibe, the perfect way to spend a Sunday afternoon!
