Looks Like We Made It

They said, I bet they'll never make it, but just look at us holding on...

Anyway that's enough of the 90s Canadian country drivel! It is now March and hopefully we are coming to the end of the so called Dead Trading Period for the hospitality industry and we are very pleased to announce, we are still here!!! It would be lovely to report that our situation is no longer precarious, but alas, we are still bobbing along, balancing the quiet days with the busy ones, so we aren't quite out of the danger zone yet! That said, (touch wood), surely by now, just surviving the butt-crack of a journey we have had thus far, means we are now in an excellent position to thrive?! I am not saying we are invincible, the amount of grey hair I'm currently sporting is testament to the fact our survival is a worry, not a given, but this year, more than ever, things feel hopeful.

Last week was an absolute belter! We had the return of our Castle Comedy Night on Wednesday. I was a little mind blown, having watched Richard Osmans House of Games on The BBC last week (which I often do to muster some inspiration for writing our Big Fat Quiz!) to go into work and find one of the celebrity contestants, Nathan Caton, on our stage! It was a sell out show and all 3 comedians were hilarious! Keep your eyes peeled for details for next months show.

We also had the return of our B4WD session on Friday, with 3x awesome, original bands (Lost Without Cause, Rusty Gs & Vegas Strip Crawlers). All three bands were fantastic and it was a great night supporting new music. If you haven't had chance to get down to one of our B4WD sessions, they are the last Friday of each month, £3 on the door (which goes to the bands)... Do it! You won't be disappointed!

On Saturday Fret Heads returned to The CCB for a blinding performance and we were jam-packed with a great crowd, ready to bust some moves! And Sunday we had DJs Double Deckers playing Ska From The Bar! Their punk, soul, rock n roll and ska classic vinyl set provided the perfect soundtrack to end a fantastic week!

So we are heading into the Spring with gusto! We are slowly introducing more and more events to our weekly schedule, details of which will be going up on our website soon. We have grand plans to host events up to 5 days a week - which is crazy considering we are only open 6 days a week! It was never our intention to be a pub. Leighton Buzzard is a great town with some wonderful independent businesses already established, including many a fine pub. What we are hoping to achieve is to fill a gap in the market for an alternative music/arts loving crowd, providing good entertainment on our doorstep, not to go head to head in competition with businesses that already exist! And let's face it, there is enough scope and growing population for us to do that, without taking trade away from local businesses! There isn't really anything like us in Leighton Buzzard and as always, if we are going to thrive this year, we are going to need your help. I'm sure by now, you all know the score, but here's a quick reminder of how you can support us...

Follow us on social media.... Like, share & comment on our content.

1st we conquer Leighton Buzzard... Next, we take on the world Bwahahahaha!!!!
