I had previously mused that by the end of September, trade will have evolved into some sense of normality, but it seems the cosmos has been conspiring against us! If the last two and a half years have taught us anything, it is that you plan, plan, plan some more and then some buggery thing will happen and it will all go to hell in a handcart and we will somehow change it all last minute and it will be amazing anyway! Each month brings yet another set of circumstances beyond our control, each as bonkers as the last! So whilst we wait for the latest scenario to blow over and hopefully for parliament to announce their plans to save us from the last, unresolved, bonkers scenario (the expected 400+% hike in business energy costs), we are cracking on the best we can! The good news is, we THINK, after a decent summer trade and successful fundraising campaign, that our survival is pretty much in the bag. Well, at least, I can confirm that we are in a far less precarious situation than we were just a few short months ago! And as a hike in energy costs of that extent is likely to kibosh EVERY business in the UK, the government are likely to take measures to cap/reduce the hike or offset it with tax cuts, so for the moment, we are pretty optimistic!
A massive THANKYOU is due to all of you who supported our campaign, our bar &/or our events. You are our heroes!!! Let's hope that this is indeed a dawning of a new era and we are finally about to enter the much awaited, (and very much required), Golden Age of live music, events and general frivolities!
Our Save From Extinction campaign will stay live and we will keep the page active on our website. We will also continue to sell our Crow merch from the website and will continue with our plans for world domination as before!!!! So in that vein, we still need your help. We still need you to frequent our bar, support our events and tell as many people as you can about our wonderful gaff!!!! The more people we get through the door, the safer our future becomes, and the budget for bigger and even more fantastic events grows!
So with that all in mind, check out what we have lined up for you this month (full listings until the end of October can be found on our EVENTS page, on our website).
