Well last week was a bit of a tough one... but it was to be expected. With everyone going off on holidays and to street parties, BBQ's, get togethers and gigs, it meant that numbers were always likely to be a bit lower than normal at the bar. We are happy to report however, that it wasn't a complete washout by any means. Friday was reasonably busy from 12pm-12am and the atmosphere at our Jubilee Jam Night was electric! The slow trickle of customers on Saturday night soon accumulated to be a great crowd, all of whom had their dancing shoes a ready for DJ Jowitt's brilliant soundtrack of Northern Soul, Motown, Mod, Punk and Ska! We did a blinding trade at The Pie Nest and overall, there was a fantastic atmosphere all week.
BANDS:
We are hugely lucky in that we have hundreds of bands that contact us every month wanting to secure a gig. It's getting to a point where to getting back to everyone is becoming a mammoth task and therefore we often only get back to people if we have a date available to be able to offer them a gig. This doesn't mean that we are not interested if you don't hear from us, just that we are pretty much fully booked for 2022 so, at the moment, we have nothing available. When we do have dates that need filling, we go through all of the contacts and check out band links that have been sent to us and therefore your emails/messages, even if they haven't had a response, are not pointless. We will get round to getting an automated response saying as much, but with contacts coming in in person, via email, Whatsapp, phone, social media etc it is a bit of a logistical pain in the whoopsie. Hopefully once we are at a point when all of our outstanding projects are up and running, we will have more time to dedicate to not seeming quite so rude or slack!

CAFE VIBES:
This month we will be relaunching our Café Vibes event. This was a great event that started due to the restricted trading and we want to continue as we loved it so much. Chilled live music (in fact, some of the best chilled live music on the circuit), great atmosphere, tables / seating and standing room, Crow Cocktails, jugs of Pimms, all really laid back with a blues-club-vibe, we close at 11pm, so it's perfect for a midweek outing! This month we have 2 Café Vibes sessions (well... it's a long month!), Little White Lights (16th) and Robert J Hunter (23rd). Both are free entry, over 16s only.

Wednesday 8th June: Quiz
We are proud that our quiz is the silliest quiz in town, with rounds such as "Foul-Mouthed Anagrams" and "Name That Mouse"!
The quiz starts at 8:30pm and there is a prize for the winners (a round of Crow Cocktails). £1pp, teams of up to 6 people (over 16s only) Be prepared for drunken debauchery, a smidge of colourful language, a sparkly jacketed host and plenty of fun and silliness and a few of the general quiz rounds! No pre-booking is required however we recommend you arrive by 8pm to ensure you get a table as this is a popular event! No team? No problem. Just pop down, everyone is friendly and you are welcome to either join a team or play solo! Plus you are welcome to pop in for a beer even if you are not joining in with the quiz.
THURSDAY 9th JUNE: Mystery & Murder
This is a blend of an escape room, a games night and a murder mystery all in the setting of an awesome bar! The game is to solve the mystery and find the murderer and it is a new game every month. The game takes approximately 1 hour and you can start play whenever you are ready (between 8-9:30pm). Teams of up to 6 people. And you are welcome to enjoy the bar before/after your game as our pool table will be out, darts and board games available and (of course), awesome tunes and great beers! Free Entry. No pre booking required.
Our usual Jam Night will return the 2nd Thursday of next month and after this week, our Mystery & Murder night will return to being held on the 1st Wednesday of each month (we have switched around some events this month inline with Jubilee celebrations, sorry for the confusion)!
