Open Mic

The Mic Drop is The Crooked Crow Bar’s regular acoustic open mic night, hosted by Jetlag Jeff and open to musicians of all experience levels.

The Mic Drop – Your Stage, Your Music

Every grassroots music scene needs somewhere people can start.

At The Crooked Crow Bar, that place is The Mic Drop, our regular acoustic open mic night hosted by Jetlag Jeff.

The evening is designed to be welcoming, relaxed, and accessible, giving poets, storytellers, rappers, singers, musicians, and songwriters the chance to get on stage and perform in front of a live audience.

There’s no pressure to be polished and no requirement to be an established performer. The Mic Drop is just as much about someone playing their first ever public set as it is about experienced musicians testing out a new song.

For us, open mic nights are an important part of grassroots music. They give artists somewhere to experiment, meet other musicians, build confidence, and become part of a wider local music community.

They also give audiences the chance to hear something completely unexpected.

The Mic Drop is free to attend, with performer sign-up usually beginning from around 7pm and music following later in the evening.

Whether you want to perform or simply come along and support local talent, everyone is welcome.
