It's Full Steam Ahead For Our Busiest Ever Summer Schedule!

We have hurtled through June quicker than a middle-aged woman at an IKEA sale! The weather has been crazy hot. I know by now we should be used to hot summer days, but after years of grey-drizzle & 2 week summers, they still come as a bit of a shock. This year is the first year my Casper-esque complexion has ever had a hint of a tan (the result of being burned to a crisp in a field at a ska & punk festival a couple of weeks ago) and I have to say, after a few weeks of temperatures hotter than Satan's underpants, it being cool enough today to don some jeans and Doc's felt a little alien, albeit a relief! Last weekend the humidity levels were ridiculous, so much so the condensation on our air con unit, literally rained down! It wasn't my 1st gig in the rain, but I'm fairly sure it was my 1st indoor gig in the rain!!! So now we just wait and see what the weather does next. Lower temperatures and (outdoor) rain are forecast next week, but surely those sunny days won't be far behind them. The good news is, whatever the weather brings, our summer schedule of events at The Crooked Crow Bar is well underway and this year is our busiest schedule yet!

We have had some absolute corkers already this month, from the launch of our retro gaming tournament (Winner Stays On), our Blockbuster Film Club screening of Wayne's World, our weekly BYO Vinyl Saturdays have been buzzing, The Big Fat Quiz of The Crow had an Eco Theme this month to tie up with #TheGreatBigGreenWeek in town, we had T-Rex Electric Warrior at this months classic album Sunday (with Gazza Records), a busy Ska From The Bar last Sunday with DJ Double Deckers, and (of course), more live music than you could shake your Mr. Whippy at!

We have had absolutely EPIC gigs from The Estimators, Fret Heads, The Zeroes, The Rooters, The Beaulocks, Octrain (+Hoops), Popscene & That's What She Said provided a brilliant live soundtrack to our 1st ever Sh*t Shirt Saturday!!!

But, never you fear, we still have more to come... More retro gaming tournaments, more Blockbuster Film nights, more stand up comedy, more big fat quizzes, more classic album Sundays, more ska from the bar and more epic gigs!!!
